Welcome to the club, Vince. It seems there are a lot of us out there that turned out to be just your average, accident prone human being. Here's hoping your arm heals quickly.
Oooohhhg. How big is the splash? I did that several years ago, and it healed well enough eventually, but then it was smallish, with the biggest splotch being about 2 cm long. Hurt like a bugger though.
You might not get much sympathy for the doing of it, but you do have for the "ouch-i-tude" factor. Aloe vera is very good for things like that, especially if you have the plant itself and not just a tube. Heal quickly.
Just please make sure you learn from this one. (((((HUGS)))
Another thing that's good for a burn is Vit.E oil. I used to nip the end off of a capsule put the oil onto the burn. It is very soothing and helps to prevent nasty scarring.
1. Brought arm under cold water for a couple of minutes right after it happened.
2. Tool an analgesic to deal with the pain.
3. Used a "Cool Blue Aloe Vera with Vitamin E" gel I have in the medicine cabinet on the burn (which stung a little).
4. Put ice on it to help with the burning feeling.
The next morning, after my shower, the skin on the burned portion peeled off, and I used antiseptic on the exposed wound before putting anti-biotic ointment covered in a gauze and wrapped in an elastic bandage. I changed the dressing 12 hours later, then once more this morning after my shower. I plan on taking it off to "air out" after I get home.
I think I'm doing okay. Thanks for the suggestions!
