✔ PERSONALITY...
005) Strengths-
Intelligent; logical; good at math and foreign languages; good at puzzles.
006) Weaknesses-
I tend to be lazy. I've never been very good at relating to or dealing with other people, and I often have trouble letting them know how I really feel about things. I have more than a bit of a temper, although I mostly keep it bottled up, and I'm prone to depression.
007) Likes-
In no particular order: knowing obscure and useless things, math, science, computers, fantasy and science fiction, fanfiction, Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels, music, bicycle racing (watching, not participating), traveling, anime, solitude.
008) Dislikes- Also in no particular order: Crowds, stupid people, incessant loud noises, bad grammar, homophobia, racism, sexism, teachers who can't deal with students who actually know what they're talking about, whiny people, broccoli.
I would venture to guess that high school would be on this list if I'd ever gone, but that's one circle of hell I escaped. Hooray for nonconformist, ex-hippie, homeschooling parents.
009) Hobbies-
Reading, writing, video games, logic puzzles, singing, occasionally playing piano (but not well… I'm really out of practice).
010) Annoyances- See dislikes.
011) Favorite School Subject(s)-
Math, physics, computer science, Greek, Japanese.
012) Dream and goal-
Right at the moment, my goal is to survive grad school and get my Ph.D. My unrealistic dreams are to (a) win a Fields medal (which is like the mathematical equivalent of the Nobel) (b) become an astronaut, and (c) write a novel. The slightly more down-to-earth one is to scrape together enough money and/or scholarships to go get a second degree at MIT. …Or Cambridge.
FASHION IS A WAR...
013) What's your favorite brand (game or real life)?
In real life, don't have one. In the game, Lapin Angelique, I guess, though I also like Dragon Couture.
014) What is your typical style?
Casual and comfortable.
015) What outfit are you not brave enough to wear?
Hm… I don't really do dresses, skirts or anything particularly revealing or form-fitting. I don't think it's that I'm not brave enough, though, I just really don't like the stuff. I kind of prefer to stay more gender-neutral.
016) Is there a certain piece of accessory that you constantly wear or carry?
Nope.
017) Let's dress Neku up in a--!
Lapin Angelique doll dress!
SHOP AT THE AMX...
018) How do you listen to your music?
Usually on my iPod, through noise-cancelling headphones.
019) What are you listening to at this moment?
Nothing, but Naked by the Goo Goo Dolls is playing in my head for some reason.
020) If you had a background theme, what would it be?
You know, I've been thinking about this, and I honestly don't know. Possibly something Celtic.
THANK YOU FOR THE FOOD...
021) What kind of food would you constantly munch on?
…Hm. Constantly? I'm not sure there's anything; I'm not big on snack food on a regular basis. Though the local chocolate shop sells these dark chocolate maple creams that are absolutely to die for… so those, I guess, although I don't actually eat them that often.
022) What is your favorite restaurant to eat at?
Any place with good Indian food. Also, there's an Italian restaurant near my home which does this really fantastically excellent butternut squash ravioli… that would have to be my second choice.
023) Any drink you prefer to go down with your meal?
Water, milk, or occasionally tea.
DEATH...
024) What does friendship mean to you?
It's important, but also very rare. I don't really get people who have huge circles of friends, or the need for constant companionship that some people seem to have. My best friend and I live in different states, and since we were teenagers we've only gotten to see each other once or twice a year; sometimes we'll both be busy and won't talk to each other for weeks. But as soon as we do get together, it's like we were never apart. Even if I haven't talked to him in a long time, I know he'll be there in an instant if I ever need him, and vice versa. To me, that's what real friendship is.
025) In exchange for a chance at life, what would be your fee or most precious thing to give up?
I'm not sure I can judge that one objectively, but… probably intelligence, though I'd hope it would be something else as I'd be pretty useless without it.
026) If faced with the decision between harming your friends or letting harm come to yourself, what would you do?
Let harm come to myself. There's really only one person I consider a friend, and we've been friends for… wow… seventeen years, now. So I think you'll understand I'd prefer not to lose him.
027) Someone has just forced a pact with you and they're your complete opposite!
I don't like being forced into anything. From a practical standpoint, if I'm in a pact with them then I'll put up with the situation to survive, but no more than I really have to.
028) Get Ready! Time to fight! What's your style (full force, weapon, tactical...)?
Tactical.
029) If there was a place you'd meet your friends, family, or associates where would you pick?
Er. If you haven't figured this out by now, I'm… not really a big socializer. Someplace quiet, I guess. Bookstores are nice. Parks are nice.
Although, if I'm going to be really completely literal about what the question's asking, and note that it doesn't include 'within the limits of good reason', then the botanical garden in Christchurch, New Zealand. Or -- slightly more within reason, because, you know, it's a mere three thousand-ish miles away -- the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle. Seattle's nice.
Also the Boston Aquarium. Actually, that one would almost be manageable if everyone concerned didn't mind driving a few hours.
ON A TIME LIMIT...
030) Betrayal or Sacrifice?
…I guess I'd have to say sacrifice, but without a little more info on the specific situation, I make no promises.
031) Teach or Learn?
Learn. I don't have a ton of patience for teaching unless I've got good students. Which really makes me wonder why I want to be a college professor.
…Well, no, it doesn't. I want to be one of those nightmare professors who comes in and assigns twenty pages of homework on the first day of the semester. And then keeps it up until the class is down to a nice size of about five people, all of whom actually have brains. Seriously, my first-year Greek prof used to do this, and those were the best college classes I ever took.
032) Easy to Trust or Suspect?
Suspect.
033) The world is polluted or worth living in?
…Yes.
TWISTER...
034) Is graffiti art?
I guess it can be. I'm not really a huge fan, though.
035) What design is on your favorite Badge/Pin?
…Is this asking for my favorite design, or the design which happens to be on my actual favorite pin? I'm assuming the former was meant. Hm… I like the design on the Dragon Couture pin 'Follow Suit, Fall in Turn'. It's black and green and yellow with lightning bolts on a sort of geometric pattern.
My favorite pin's Excalibur, though.
036) Would you play in a Tin Pin Slammer competition?
If I really, really had to. As in, 'universe would explode if I didn't' had to.
037) Which character would you love to hang out with?
I don't know about hanging out as such, but Joshua would be interesting to talk to, if only for the challenge of trying to get some answers out of him. I doubt I'd succeed, but I'd guess it could be quite the education anyway. I'd also like to meet Sho, at least for long enough to exchange a few geeky puns -- and to find out if his mathematical knowledge actually goes at all past basic calculus. I always wonder about that.
Also, Hanekoma. Of everyone, he seems like possibly the most comfortable person to be around.
038) Which character would you hate to be in a pact with?
Probably Beat.
039) Is it really a Wonderful World or does it End With You?
It Ends With You.
