Most of the activities in my life ultimately have to be done alone. Sure, I have weight lifting friends, but in the end, I have to pick it up. Sure, I have writer friends, but in the end, I have to do the writing. Sure, I have book lover friends, but in the end, I have to read the book myself. The closest thing I have to regular interactions these days is with my students, which is probably why I'm so bad at disciplining them; in my perfect world, I'm just coaching them along and trying to be helpful and they are studious and grateful.
