Was it just me, or did things go a little bit "Kids in the Hall" at the beginning there, with the slow-mo walkup and the guitar (pronounced gee-tar)?
Oh man, totally. You crack me up. Also, now I feel the need to go find some old Kids in the Halls episodes I have sitting around on tape. Yes. VHS. I'm so old sometimes.
I completely forgot how HAPPY I was with the Dean swearing. I think I've complained almost every week of this show about how the real Dean (oh hello grip on reality, yes I know there's no real Dean) would swear. All the time. I would love if it was unbleeped on the DVD. Is it wrong that I just want him to say fuck? Also, smoke. Dean would smoke. Marlboro reds, I think.
Finally, I think the gay love saves the day bit was a sadly, and poorly veiled attempt to apologize for the implied Dean gay bashing in an earlier ep. It was hamhanded, and not necessary. But yes, Corbett was so cute and earnest.
I only have like 2 spn fans on my FL, so you're pretty much going to get all my squeeing. I apologize in advance.

Yeah, the swearing thing? I know I shouldn't love it as much as I do, but I DO. Somewhere out there are copies of this ep without the bleeps. Whether it's through the power of the internet or the power of the S3 DVDs, I will have one, oh yes, I will. (And there's more to it than just wanting to see Dean say the word fuck, although yeah, wanna see that too, plz.)

Someone online has already asked for Ghostfacers Corbett fic. I'll read it. I really miss Andy and Ava and he trips that same switch in me. Corbett isn't Andy or Ava, but that earnestness gets me every time.
Go go VHS magic! I refuse to give up my VCR. I've got newer tech, sure, but my collection of VHS tapes has stuff on it that I just refuse to give up! *cradles tapes to bosom*

Aw, Andy and Ava. I miss them too. Especially Andy. It wasn't gay bashing exactly. There were a couple episodes where Dean put Sam down by calling him gay (in more or less words) and I know specifically in the ep where the girl is in the coma and forces fairy tale things to happen Dean called Sam gay as an insult, which ruffled some fans feathers, apparently. I really do think that part of this episode was a clumsy attempt to say no, the spn writers don't hate gays. But then, I read too much into a lot of things.

Clumsy attempts seem to be all the rage this year in exposition, don't they?
Actually, I am ruffled, but I'm ruffled about the fact that Dean is stupider this season than he was last season. That particular fairy tale episode was an example of what I think is lazy writing. "We'll have Dean ask Sam about the fairy tales and Sam will know and then Dean can be snarky." Dean would already know that shit. Says me.
