Yes, it did leave a disappointing taste in one's intellectual palate -- however, this is Torchwood we are talking about, where they at one point have to write in *blood* so that the message will last for *several decades* (because you know, ink from the 40's deteriorates so much faster!) and Neil Gaiman's comment that they should have written it in chocolate was so very apt! Overall, I think this was generally better writing then they were used to, but of course that wasn't too hard!

Ianto's death broke my heart. It's like the writers think they have to be all dark and cruel to their characters so the show will be taken seriously. I'd rather have good writing and a chance for at least 70% of the main characters to get a "happily ever after"!

And I agree that kids work as drugs for aliens. Why not? That seems one of the strongest of the plot-lines!
