Weather report

We had hellacious weather here last night. It seemed to spring up out of nowhere - one second it was sprinkling lightly and the next the wind caught my screen door and slammed it back against the front of the house. Sounds like the weather that Tina got in KY... she said they had hail and windows blowing out. She lost power for a bit and did end up going to the only place in the house without a window (the bathroom) witht he dogs.. I am sure it did make Parker anxious, but Parker is such and anxious dog anyway that it's hard to tell when he gets anxious! As for Alex, nothing ruffles his feathers!
Dayton got storms, but nothing like yours or hers! Glad everyone is ok!

DUDE. The poplar in front of my house dropped a huge (10" diameter, 40' long?) branch on my next door neighbors CAR!!! And the effing city came at 1:45am with chainsaws and a woodchipper... and proceeded to spend the next 40 minutes right outside my bedroom window using both of them. Very loudly.

ACK! I think poplars are usually pretty sturdy, too (not like the silver maples that are all over the places, which are like kindling in the wind.)

Although it does suck that the city felt it appropriate/necessary to do that sort of thing in the middle of the night, I also appreciate knowing that they came out to take care of business. Given their (lack of) response when the ice storm happened a couple of Christmases ago, I would have expected the car would *still* be buried today.
