Movies... I see a fair few these days, mostly with my movie buddy shammymacc. Today was Silver Linings Playbook. I really liked it... She didn't. I hope the cake we shared afterwards made up for that!

As I said, I liked the movie, and it was exactly what I expected (based on the preview I saw months ago). I liked the rather accurate depictions of the daily ( Read more... )

I agree with you re Jennifer's performance. I loved the movie, but her performance was not Oscar worthy for sure.

Safe travels <3

I probably won't go and see 'Silver Linings Platbook', the trailer didn't appeal to me at all.

On Thursday I saw "Side Effects". I enjoyed that, it had quite a twist at the end. I'm not a big fan of Jude Law but he's Ok as an actor.

I think that Kiera Knightly is Ok in some movies, for example "Never Let Me Go", but her being so skinny tends to turn me off her movies

My problem with Kiera Knightly is that her face has as much emotional range as you might see on a jellyfish.

Side Effect sounds very convoluted!

I feel the same way about Nicole Kidman. I will not watch a movie if it's got Nicole Kidman in it, that's how much I can't stand her

Have a great trip and I hope you get a good film. :)

I haven't seen Silver Linings Playbook yet. That's one I decided to wait to see when it comes on cable. I know one thing said about the best actress Oscar was that she demonstrated a wide range of emotions in a way that worked perfectly for the character (paraphrasing).

Don't get me wrong, it was a good part, and she played it well, but I just didn't get that "OMG what an incredible performance" feeling that I usually do for winners of that category. I did get that for Anne Hathaway's performance, however.

I've seen three movies at the theatre this year, which I think is more than I saw ALL of last year. Loving it.
