European Trip... seems wrong to call it a holiday.

This month I was lucky enough to be sent to Europe for a conference. I'm looking forward to returning with Hubby in a year or two... Then I can really explore it. It's very easy to get lost in, but every corner reveals more beauty.

Thank you for sharing these wonderful pics of your trip. I can understand you not wanting to tour too much without hubby.

SMS looks terrific and I'm so glad you got to see each other.

I bet getting home meant more this time than most trips. *HUGS*

*hugs*.

It was a good trip, and so very different to everything else I've ever done with a holiday. It was very emotional, and the time spent with SMS was a fun oasis in the middle.

Pity I had to fly with an alternate airline... All those miles and it added practically nothing to my FF points :(.

I'm weeping looking at your photos of your uncles' burial photos. You must be very proud. I'm so touched. I had no idea so many Aussies were in Europe my dear. I am so thankful you are home on your native soil and thank you so much for the glorious photos, as always.

In Flanders Fields the poppies blow
between the poppies, row on row
that mark our place...

Didn't see a single poppy in Flanders, but they grew on every roadside in Somme.

There are parts of the Belgian and French countryside which are heavily fertilised with Australian blood. 46000 died in this part of the war. The gratitude of the people of those towns is still strong today.

That's from a poem written by someone, I'll have to find out who.

Learned it as a kid.

Touched me, your photojournal.

Deeply.
