Ayla is the shit. She can deal max damage crits earlier than anyone else.

I just... she's not my jam. Same reason I never play Berserker or Barbarian classes. I can't do pure physical.

That whole 'I can only hit one target at a time'-thing sucks balls.

Chrono Trigger is one of my all time favs!

I loved running a party of Ayla, Frog and Chrono.

CT really is an amazing game... :)

And that's a great party. I imagine it's what I'd run throughout the endgame if I killed Magus.

yes. marle is dumb. she's a princess. noone's teaching her anything useful, just how to look pretty and browbeat her husband.

poor doomed crono. and lucca, now that i think about it. i mean not only does she get the useless status spells dumped on her, and have an array of useless weapons at several points in the game, but she has to do all the hard work of fixing everything and then marle swipes crono from her because she's a bossy royal and they hadn't figured it out yet.

oh come on, lucca built him a SPARRING ROBOT. noone goes that out of their way just for a bud. dumb princess.

Ayla and Lucca seem like a more natural pairing to me anyway.

1: you're only saying that because you want to see them making out (and so do i, but that's neither here nor there)

2: i'm pretty sure ayla would go all alpha female on marle, since that's the pair with the "duel charm" combo tech. that's pretty much them promising a three-way to some sucker if they get something nice.

Naw, they're both very different kinds of tomboys suited for their eras. Enough similarity to understand each other, enough difference for there to be a spark. :3

oh god, i'm lesbo for chrono trigger characters

Mayhap a hidden door lurks nigh? Let us search the environs...

You totally didn't talk about how cool Robo is ;_; He has the second best back story imo, and his theme song is rad as hell <3

In regards to Robo's theme music, please see http://roboastley.ytmnd.com/

You're right though, I did neglect to mention his awesomeness. Lucca too, a little bit.

Hm....

The sound on my computer is not working, and is therefore a jerk =/ I will have to watch this ytmnd on someone else's computer some other time ;_;

Also, Lucca's alright I suppose. Kind of creepy how badly she has a mad on for Robo, though >_>

This is so awesome-- an entire post by you about video games that I actually A) understand and B) know enough to agree/disagree with! I recognize character names and game plot points and everything! :)

Magus does indeed rock, and "Marle is as dumb as a fucking rock" pretty much sums up the character for me... Although that didn't stop me from using her for most of the game. (What? She's the prettiest and I was a young girl at the time, okay? Stop judging me.)

I really need to check out this Vagrant Story thing you keep mentioning. I looked it up on Wikipedia because I knew nothing about it, and I think I'll see if any of my brother's friends has a copy.

I am very pleased to have posted about a game you're familar with! :)

Hahaha, no judgement ther use of Marle. I used Crono because he's the "Hero!" character, afterall. :)

As for Vagrant Story, I frequently mention it in the hopes that I might spurn people into giving it a look. It's woefully underplayed, and easily my favorite Square game. (though I must confess, this replay for Chrono Trigger has brought me in line with people who call it one of their brightest efforts.)

Also, Vagrant Story has an awesome plot that's told brilliantly, but the Wiki entry seems to gloss over that...
