Another fun chapter! It was nice to see Lee enjoy himself--he's always so controlled.
It's nice to write them having fun for a change. They can do it - spraying each other with water hoses in Colonial Day for example.
And I did try to make Lee a bit more relaxed in this story as at this point he doesn't have all the baggage - Zak's death, being in love with his brother's fiancee etc - that he acquires later.
I realized I was smiling about halfway through this chapter and consciously tried to stop but couldn't. I would give anything to see L/K play their way through an arcade for real.
Such an entertaining chapter. I hope Lee doesn't make a big stink out of this too. He already ruined the party with the tempter tantrum over his father.

So would I!
The arcade just seemed to fit their competitiveness, plus it was a way to get them to fly vipers together despite the problem of there being no actual vipers around.

No comment! :-)
But Lee's protective older brother mode was definitely kicking into gear at the end here...
I really like this pre-mini fic, it was fun to see them enjoying themselves. Now I can't stop reading - I just have to know what happens next and if they will have a huge fight about the fact that Kara is Zak's teacher...or if he learns to deal with it...
GAH! This is wonderful. The competitive nature of Lee/Kara and how she actually ENJOYS competing with him is awesome. And the reveal about Kara being Zak's instructor is a nice little wrinkle.

I can so see him being the "man of the house" when his father left. He has that sense of responsibility.
I like Zak here, too. The show never told us what he was like, but knowing how Lee is, I can see Zak being the opposite--just like you wrote him here.
Another great chapter. Looking forward to chapter 7!
