Well, here it is finally, the sequel to Freedom.

This story is my offer of a diversion from the Lee/Kara angst of season 3…okay, so there is some angst in it but I promise an upbeat resolution :-)

If you haven’t read Freedom, or can’t remember what happened, here’s a quick recap:

Kara slept with Lee on a visit to Pegasus and the following ( Read more... )

You can't leave it there. I hope you'll have an update soon I'm already loving this. I wonder if Sam knows about her affair with Lee?

Glad you liked the 'everyone has a skill' bit. She and Lee have these little in-jokes, and now she has no-one to understand them.

That's why I don't find it believable, when Helo talks to Kara about Apollo as if knowing what's in her head. But that's just me and my pickyness. I hope you don't mind? If you do, tell me to shut up.

No, you're perfectly right. I completely agree that on-screen Helo has always seemed completely clueless about Kara and Lee. But in this story Kara needs a friend to talk to who knows about her feelings for Lee...there's a big scene about this later on...and Helo was the logical person to pick. so he's an AU Helo in that respect in this story.

Sam really doesn't know much about Kara - he tries to know her now, but you can never get totally separated from your past.

Great, just what I was trying to get across, as you'll see in chapter two.

Another thing I find very fitting is how Kara thought triad was about winning, but it really was about challenge. And who would better chalenge Starbuck, than Apollo?.So glad you said this, I wasn't sure if that would come across from the triad (and the running bit) that she misses the challenge ( ... )

Lovely beginning. I'm glad Kara's regretting her decision.

I've been looking forward to this. :D I still wish I had your resolution about finishing a story before posting it - I just can't unless it's a one-shot. Oh well... c'est la vie ( ... )

So many great insights into her character

Thank you, that means a lot because I do find her voice harder to write than Lee.

So of course I then find myself writing this story, which is mainly from her POV...why does my brain do this to me?!

I wonder when all of that past will catch up and he'll find out just how screwed up she really is inside? (or maybe he's already figuring it out - that's why he left ... guess I'll have to wait and see) :)

Kind of. I hope the reason he's leaving makes sense...I'll have to wait and see what people think.

She's obviously using Sam as a Lee-replacement, only he's proving not to be satisfying enough.

Very true! Although of course at the end of the last story Lee thought it was the other way round!
