Chapter 3

Helo couldn’t help groaning inwardly when he saw Sam Anders waiting for him outside the briefing room.

He really didn’t need this right now. Every time he closed his eyes he could see Lee Adama bleeding to death in front of him, struggling to breathe as he choked out his last words.

This chapter put a lump in my throat. I'm glad Kara is realizing she loves Lee - if maybe a little too late.

I'm about to cry, really!!! This is frustrating!!! I'm hoping she finally goes in search of him, even if its dead, and found him 'cuz she needs an ending to all the Lee issue

There's a bit more Kara grief/angst to go, but I promise this story is not just 15 chapters of her grieving (because that would be really dull). The story takes a new direction in chapter 5.

Gah! Don't make me wait! I'm so impatient for pilots! I really liked how you outlined the reasons Kara and Lee are NOT best friends:

Her best friend?

No. Helo was her best friend. She and Lee had not been best friends. Best friends didn’t spend half their time flirting with each other. Best friends didn’t have jealous arguments about who the other one was frakking. Best friends didn’t call out their best friend’s name when they were in bed with someone else.

For all the non K/L shippers, here is irrefutable evidence. :)

Irrefutable. People may not like K/L, or think it's a spectacularly bad idea, but they can't deny it exists :)

That line was a perfect cap to that scene--great idea! You played the Kara/Anders dynamic really well too. More more more!

Glad you liked the Kara/Anders scene - he's hard to write, because we still don't know that much about him. And that line from Scar just seemed to fit in there.

Another wonderful chapter!

I could feel Kara's grief so well, I had tears in my eyes. I think you've really nailed her feelings for Lee. There's not one-clear cut thing that they are to each other. Poor Kara!
