I like how you paint Lee here. Obviously, as we see in the show, he is someone who needs something to do, needs to keep busy, to be contributing. And with the supposed peace, he has none of that. His days just run together. Leave it to Kara to liven things up for him again! I can't wait to see them in the air--and also to see what you think the rift is about! Looking forward to the next chapter. Great job!

Yes, I can see why Lee has ended up like he has in the show. He needs to feel he's contributing, to have a purpose, and while they were orbiting New Caprica he just didn't. Add in the whole thing with Kara and I can see why he let himself go.

Yay, my pilots are allowed to fly again...I love how you portrait their love for flying as an important part of their relationship, and that they're friends - beside all their issues, deep feelings, UST and secretly pining.
I can imagine that the early days on New Caprica and in the orbit of the planet are exactly like this: The first time since the nuking of the twelve colonies they're actually bored, it's quiet and people start to wonder what to do with their lives... you've captured this very well. Excellent chapter :)

Liked the characterization of Lee and the emptiness of commanding a ship that has nothing to do. And the benefits of command letting him call up Vipers because of it. Looking forward to the next chapter...
