First, I like the banter these two have. I've always enjoyed seeing them giving each other a hard time in a playful sort of way. But there is so much chemistry that I can see this actually happening--one minute they're playing around, and the next minute they cross the line from firendship into something more.
I can see Lee thinking this as well, and it's a sad thought (to me, anyway)--But still his hand tightened instinctively on her shoulder as he fell asleep, and his final thought was to hope that she was still there in the morning.--He wants her so badly, and he's so afraid he's going to lose her.
I loved the banter and the fact that they're still able to be drinking buddies...
I also hope, they won't regret it in the morning - I love drunken frakking stories very much, too, but with these two I'm never sure if they won't screw up the situation the next morning...
Oooh, finally caught up with this story! Loving it! The flying together in the last chapter was so sweet and now semi-drunken viper pilot sex! So good! I need lots and lots of happy thoughts with the lack of Kara/Lee in the last couple of episodes. Also, Kara'd better be there in the morning! Can't wait for the next chapter!
Of course they're going to regret it in the morning. That's the whole point isn't it. Kara's going back to Sam and Lee's going to be terribly hurt, betrayed and pissed. It was a good frak, a last goodbye for Kara, and Lee thought it was a beginning. As usual, they were on different pages of the same book - what a lovely tragedy it is, too.

What a lovely way to put it.
You're quite right of course, Kara sees it as the end and Lee sees it as the beginning, and so it's all going to end badly.
