Some kitty ate the baby bird during the day. All I found was a little wing and a lump of something I didn't recognize. :(

It was a stupid little bird flying down into our yard over and over. I rescued it again yesterday just as I was leaving for work, putting it in the tree overhanging our neighbor's yard instead of ours. Darwinism in action.

Years ago, Kate had another cat, when she and Richard were children, and she also had two green parakeets.

She decided to let the parakeets fly around the room and sit in the Christmas tree! One flew right to the tree.

The other flew down to the piano bench, just next to the startled cat, who quick as a wink opened her mouth!

There was much wailing and regret, but Kitty was very happy and surprised, being a cat.
