I am soooo excited right now! I got the call back from the YMCA main office to assist them as a part-time receptionist! The excellent thing is that they need someone with my skill set: editing and designing! I'm so excited! They recommended I come two days a week to start so I can still combine it with another part-time job! How exciting!

I cried like a baby during Obama's speech at the Democratic national Convention. It was amazing. I cried first reading the transcript and I cried again watching the video with Kevin. WE DROVE DOWN TO THE CALIFORNIA LAVA BEDS NATIONAL PARK AND WENT SPLUNKING. I have been cave exploring before in Bend but this one had a neat park with many to choose from. We did about 7 cave hikes. My favorites was the Golden Bear and the chocolate one. I twisted my knee a bit in one of the hikes and I'm taking it easy right now ( Read more... )

WADED IN THE FAIRY POOLS UP IN THE LITHIA PARK IN ASHLAND WITH MY COUSINS. We had fun splashing each other with rocks. Lindsay dropped her phone in the water but it seemed to be working when we left. DROVE TO ASHLAND WITH ADRIANNE AND PARTIED LIKE A COLLEGE STUDENT! I really enjoyed Ashland--it was a beautiful city. Like a little oasis in the sage-brush. I think we went to 5 bars, but I know we went twice to a few of those so it felt like 7-8. I had quite a bit to drink for me: 2 cranberry vodkas and 3 martinis. All right! I TOOK AMTRAK TO KLAMATH FALLS TO VISIT MY COUSIN ADRIANNE. I took the #11 Coast Starlight. I arrived on-time, which was a freakin' miracle. I had a nice conversation with my 14-year-old seat partner. It was pretty interesting to talk to someone so much younger then me.

TODAY I WENT TO IKEA AND BOUGHT A BOOKSHELF AND WENT HOME AND MADE IT. Ahem. I should mention that Kevin did most of the hammering and putting together but I was there with my Corona & Lime and the instructions and I was "helping" like handing him pieces that he needed, etc. It looks so classy.
