Just got this message from someone on Deviant Art. It seems like it might be good exposure, but there is something about people using my work and not getting paid for it. I'm nervous when the rights of my work are up in the air. Any thoughts?

Just don't know how legit they are. It's also possible they just spammed everyone. Not to mention I'm not getting paid.

I really don't want to tell you not to do it, but personally I'd be skeptical. If you know anyone who knows anything about law, you might want them to advise you. At the very least, I'd tell him to get back in touch with you in "the next month, month and a half" so you can at least verify that his website is legit. :p
And yeah, the fact that you don't get paid whatsoever seems pointless to me.

Also the suggestion of gallery displays are always nice. Anything that gives me any kind of public display I can put on my resume. Which is one of the reasons I bother sending mail art to galleries. Even though they're not looking to turn people away, its still something I can write down to show I've been active.
Hey look the Modesto Art Museum got my package! :D (but they take shittier photos than I do)
