Hi! Sorry to bug you, but I had a couple of minor questions. I signed up for gsd_rtfn, a community (that I really, really recommend to anyone else doing this, btw) where you write nonstop for a week at a time, then share your progress daily with others. The last time I wrote a big bang, it helped me SO MUCH to converge with fellow writers and give/receive encouragement, but they have the option to post snippets - one or two sentences of your project. Can we do that or is that against policy? If so, it's not really a problem. Also, are there banners and other things to pimp the big bang on our own journals? I have no artistic bone in my body, unfortunately, but one of the artists might be interested in whipping something up, since they haven't been assigned to an author yet. Thanks for your time! :)

Hey! You know, that's an interesting idea. I'm going to talk to my co-mod about it. We've been discussing ways to create discussion and togetherness with the group and this is actually a good idea. The only stipulation I have is that it would need to be anonymous. We'd create a post and the writers could comment with snippets. I'll definitely talk that over with her. Thanks for the suggestion.

As for banners, I'll see what I can do about that. Maybe I'll create some and then give the option for some of the artists to make some too. Good ideas! :)

I'm probably not saying this right...but one of the ideas I have for my Big Bang fic would make it a sequel to something I've already posted online. I do know that some big bang communities don't want that, would rather have something new written that's not a sequel to anything already online. Would you guys mind this or would you rather prefer new stuff?

A sequel to another story is fine. We're allowing anything that hasn't previously been published online. Sequel, prequel, or anything. :)

Promotion Question c8h7n3o2 August 20 2011, 11:14:50 UTC
Hi there!
I was wondering if it is ok to promote our [myself and ladyknightanks's] Suits Beta community here - it is suits_beta.
Thanks in advance - I will not post until I hear back.

I'm going to say no for right now... let me talk to my co-mod and one of us will let you know.

If you want to, maybe post a comment in the beta post right here promoting the comm. I think people would go to that post if they were looking for a beta.

I'm going to have to agree with my co-mod on this one. Only because we want the community to easy to navigate for anyone looking to join. Of course, putting a comment in the beta post is perfectly alright. If you would like to affiliate, though, I can place a link to the community on our profile page which might help spread the word for your comm. :)

Just wanted to clarify-- authors post the art made for their fic in a separate entry from the fic and then link to it in the master post? Or do artists make the art post and then have the author link to it?

Yes, to the former. The artist doesn't have to post anything. They just send the art to the mods when the time comes and we send it to the authors for them to post in an entry separate from their fic and linked in their masterpost. I'm sorry for any confusion. In retrospect, the explanation does sound a bit clunky. :(

This will be covered in a post I'll be making regarding how to submit final drafts and art. You will need to send them all to us. We'll also have some other rules for you to follow when it comes to submitting and posting.

I'm at work right now, so the post will be ready some time after 5 p.m. (EST) this evening. :)
