Mike has always loved to read. The subject has never mattered much - before college had gone pear-shaped, his dorm room bookshelf had entertained the spectrum from Greek mythology to anatomy to organic chemical compounds. He'd always had a particular affinity for the medical textbooks; prior to the car crash that robbed him of his parents, his mother had been a nurse. He'd grown up referring to it as the humerus rather than the funny bone, the tibia rather than the shin bone. Needless to say, it hadn't won him many friends. Trevor had never minded, though; he hadn't shared in Mike's thirst for knowledge, but he'd never made fun of it. That's another thing that's changed about him ( ... )
