Boys don't invite girls to their birthday parties. They just don't. (and vice versa)

A belief that hurt me worse than I realized at the time. If there's one moment that exemplifies my experience with birthday parties it's when I was in grade 8, maybe 9, and one of my close friends was having a birthday party. I never really thought of that until now. I went to a private catholic school where at a very young age you learned that being different really wasnt that great. So I didnt play with other guys..and I certainly was not going to play what the girls were playing..so I wondered around at recess not knowing what to do with myself. Lonely times.

I learned that too, but lol I guess I've always been a non-conformist. Those were definitely somewhat lonely times. I remember I longed soooooooo badly to have a real best friend, some one who would never leave me out of a birthday party, some one who wanted to hang out with me all the time not just at school, some one I could relate to, some one like me. It was only when I finally met other FTMs for the first time did that longing go away and I finally felt accepted and connected to people.
