Just been to see Kung-fu Hustle. What a gloriously silly film. I enjoyed it tremendously.Particuarly the dancing gangsters and yes! Classical chinese music really is painful!

Yesterday evening I was cruising down Middle Meadow Walk on my bike (in the rain but it was warm). As I got on to the flat bit a large dog ran out on to the bike path and STOPPED. Just finished reading the graphic novel by Marji Satrapi about (in case you don't know) growing up in fundamentalist Iran. Quite, quite stunningly brilliant.

I have just given up on reading “Little, Big” by John Crowley. I hate giving up on books but I was a 120 pages in and it felt like pulling teeth to get any further. Now I am a huge fun of overwritten literature (see gormenghast on Interests) but I did feel that Crowley was more interested in constructing twiddly sentences for the sake of it rather ( Read more... )
