According to HP wikia. "It Is said that on the full-moon werewolves take this, they still transform, but at least in Remus Lupin's case they still act human. They usually stay somewhere safe and sleep through the transformation."

Personally, I like the hangover theory, and to hell with when the full moon was!

Those are beautiful pictures of the moon. I watched it rise last night, but didn't take any photos. It looks rather majestic here as well, though.

I don't mind that JKR didn't get the dates for the full moon right, but it is one of my favorite things about fandom that authors can do their own "research" and come up with alternate scenarios for stories.
