It was a weekend of movie fun! I saw Batman Begins twice this past weekend. Once at the theater in Brighton and again at the Celebration Cinema's IMAX Theater in the Lansing area ( Read more... )

At least they realize someone made a mistake casting her! Hey what do you think about the whole "TomKat" thing, fact or fiction? I'm having a difficult time believing that they are getting hitched for real. I think it's all for publicity. They do share the publicity company. Seriously, he's 21 years her senior. Besides sex what can she honestly offer him? Plus Tom Cruise has never been this open about any of his other relationships. Heck I didn't even know he's been married to someone other than Kidman. Plus on top of the Eiffel Tower, come on. They had only been dating 6 or 7 weeks. Ah, but it's Hollywood so who knows!

I totally understand. I was only able to catch pieces of the Matt interview with Cruise and many critics are up in arms about who "won" the conversation. I haven't had a chance to look into Scientology yet so I don't know much about it, but I had heard it started through a bet between a couple of authors. This is all hearsay so I could be completely wrong. The authors made a bet that they, each one through a novel/book, could begin a new religion. Two had success and out of the two scientology gather a huge Hollywood following and that's why it survived ( ... )

Uh! I loved that movie! Saw it twice in one weekend too. And from what I've heard, the studio that produced Batman is replacing Katie because the sensation around her and Tom has taken away from the publicity she was supposed to have produced for the movie. And since Tom is usually associated with another studio... well, you get the picture.

That's good to hear that the studio is replacing her. Honestly I've never liked her acting, not even on Dawson's Creek. I'm assuming that they're going to be makeing another movie?

Most definitely. The story is going to involve The Joker. All the major cast members have resigned (Caine, Freeman and best of all, Bale, woo!) but they're still looking for someone to replace Katie. From what I understand, they're considering a relative unknown- its an attempt to secure someone who can 'act' rather than someone who is merely a star. It's a similar case for the role of The Joker- there was talk of casting Mark Hamill (aka Luke Skywalker) in that role but I think now they're after someone younger and fitter so that Bale has someone he can really square off against.

Wow. I must be a nerd or something to know all this!

I never really got into Dawson's Creek (I don't think many guys did) and have only seen the odd episode here and there (come on.... they're sixteen, sharing a bed and have never considered sex? phffffft). Besides that and The Gift, I don't know a whole lot about her acting. But yeah, didn't particularly like her.

You don't sound like a nerd, just well informed which makes you sound intelligent. A no name actress in that role would probably be the best choice. Like what they did for the new Star Wars movies. If they have cast big name actors I don't think the movies would have done as well as they did.

Oh yah and yeah for recasting Bale. He was great the best Batman to date in my book. Of course I loved everything I've seen him in since Newsies!
