Well things are very different from this time last year. Right now, I am lying in bed writing this entry on Daryl's school laptop which he let me borrow for the vacation, It's 6:30 in the morning and i can't sleep cause I have a lot on my mind

I'm sorry you feel so sick... that is very crummy. :(

As for the whole home situation... I have a friend who's getting married in Ontario this month and her and her fiance managed to find a house: the payments per month are cheaper than paying rent (and like you guys, they came across A LOT of dumps). Now, I don't know how prices compare between her town (Brantford) and the Langley/Abbotsford area, but it also might be an encouragement to you to note that they are only 19, she is pregnant (and thus not working), and he doesn't have anywhere near as good of a job as you guys have. Keep your chin up... there's something out there for ya. And if you buy a place rather than rent, you'll have something to show for it at the end, rather than just having your money sucked up by a landlord. Good luck!

Thanks so much for your encouraging words! Our meetings today with the mortgage specialists went really well and we found that we will be able to buy a place in Abbotsford. It won't be a detached house or anything because then we won't be able to buy food but we'll be able to afford a nice condominium or townhouse. Now the fun part begins! It's funny cause in April I was wondering if I could afford a new car and now I'm looking at buying a house!!! I guess this means that I am growing up! Stay tuned for more updates - I'm sure I'll be ranting on here a lot in the coming months!
