apparently kids in my town don't trick or treat on halloween.. apparently they did that on sunday. i am told this by my 9 year old neighbor while i'm outside lighting my paper pumpkin lanterns in painted face and puppy costume standing in front of my garishly decorated home with my costumed dog.

the little groundhog, little richard, was cute. (we haven't seen boss hog in a while)
i liked watching him wander the grass around our house eating the weeds and grass.
then he decided to be naughty in my garden:
he ate my pansies
he ate the leaves off my cone flower
he ate my hollyhocks
this is war.
and war calls for fox urine.
