I'm an American...and what the judge says makes sense and seems reasonable.
Are you put off or offended or disagree with what was said?

The function of a judge is to interpret the law and pass judgement according to the legal rules that are laid down or, as in your case, codified. A judge is expected to be an impartial witness and adjudicator to a trial, regardless of its content. This judge is merely grandstanding ( ... )
