& then he just up and leaves Earth? Jack wouldn't do that. He's better than that. Also, isn't his Vortex Manipulator supposed to be broken?
He apparently fixed the vortex manipulator before, because Ten had to re-Doctor it, so... lol And him leaving Earth... isn't that some sort of setup for him to become The Face Of Boe?

Still, it does sound messed up. His man dies, and other shit goes down, and he takes off? 0_o ...Did it remind you of the BDA? If so, Jack needs his immortal ass kicked until he cries and begs for Mommy.

Ugh, I know how you feel. I didn't even see Ianto's death coming, and I usually predict those things. IT WAS HORRIBLE, I WAS A MESS.

I think it was arabian who pointed out to me that there's still Gwen and Rhys, Lois (possibly), Martha (if she ever comes back from her honeymoon) and Jack will come back. I personally hope Mickey shows up too.

I really think they're using Jack to do the same thing they've done with the Doctor, only ten times worse because they have the go-ahead to be dark. No 'I love you.' Terrible separations. Alone, separated from everybody. Making the ridiculous decisions. Running away ( ... )

That was NOT Jack.
Someone who has listened to the audiocommentary with RTD said that Russell said something along the lines of: Jack did that because with the loss of Ianto he has nothing to live for anymore. So he can sacrifice his grandson and run off.
While I think that Ianto's death certainly had an impact on him, sacrificing a child/his grandson was just beyond anything. I cannot believe he did that almost without any hesitation.

I'm terrified for Ten now. I can't even think about what sort of hell is in store for Who fans when he regenerates. I'm going to be in a STATE. *cowers*
That is exactly what terrifies me the most! And on christmas of all things.
