Well, all I can comment on is the geography. And I have to say, give it a try before you write it off. I'm guessing Midwest or South, since Northwest and Northeast are pretty interesting and you're in the Southwest, but that could be entirely wrong. And both Mid-West and South have some horrible places and some incredible places.
But you're probably going to make this choice for other reasons.
Yeah, the region is not really a major factor (I wasn't particularly excited about the Southwest before I came out here, either). The bigger issues are small town/not quite close enough to a big city. I'm a metro kinda girl.
However, this particular college town has a reputation for being particularly cool, so I'm willing to check it out and see how it feels. Well, as much as one can tell from a two-day visit, anyway.
Oh, I'm definitely going. I've already booked my travel and everything, so backing out isn't an option. Not that I'd want to. I just don't expect the place itself to be in the plus column if I have to make a decision.
