I'm so incredibly depressed over his death. His poor family! WHat a great loss to society. Someone who genuinely cared about the creatures of the earth. It's still ironic, though.
when i first heard of it on the radio, it felt so surreal. he just seemed so invincible, you know, that i thought that it just couldn't be the same steve irwin. i just doubted what i was hearing for a while

My children have been having a hard time with this loss. They loved watching him on television as all boys do. My 12 year old boy came home from school still distressed about it. I guess it may bring back memories of the loss of their father 2 years ago. We can keep asking "why" but we may never know. Life goes on and I hope his wife and children can move forward. The sad thing is that the little boy is so young to have any true memories of his father. So sad!
my heart goes out to your babies, especially your 12 year old. poor sweety. i'm so sorry they lost their dad, to you also. i imagine this is, indeed, hitting him pretty bad. i was just reading about how children mourn loss, and apparently it's a common belief that they mourn in repetitive cycles, unlike adults. whenever something happens (like steve irwin's unfortunate passing), they will mourn their original loss, all over again.
i don't know how exact or true that is, but it made me think of it. i hope his wife terri and kids can move forward also. terri always looked so strong and well adjusted on the show, so i have a feeling she is going to be the rock they need. it is so sad. i still can't believe it.
