your is quite different. I too like the new Appleseed Cast, but not as much as their last one. also, didn't know the elected had a new album out. other than that I've only heard of most of the bands, but mostly not.

If you like appleseed cast you may like Mogwai, Mono, Early Day Miners, The Album Leaf, and iLiKETRAiNS. They are all sort of, of the post-rock ilk

Mono is from Japan. Their newest album is their best. It's called You Are There.

Mogwai is one of my favorite bands. They've been around for about 10 years or so. Their older albums are heavier, Young Team (probably their classic album). The newer album is sort of a back to the roots type album. It is also excellent. I could pretty much recommend all their albums. If you want heavy go with Young Team or Mr. Beast. For some softer side and still heavy at times go with Come on Die Young or Happy Songs for Happy People.

Early Day Miners try out All Harms End. This band is much softer than Mogwai and Mono.

If you like Sigur Ros you'll probably like The Album Leaf. I like their newest album best, Into the Blue, but it is probably their most pop sounding album.
