Today, the day before Easter I started our washing machine at about 7:45am, which caused a connection in our toilet to break and spout an inch worth of water in our bathroom. I got an email from Univ of Florida this morning stating the following:

"You are certified to receive the following degree: MASTER OF ENGINEERING"

I walked across a stage last week, but it is nice to know it is official. Now I have to wait till February to receive my actual diploma.

Yeah! I got a new job. No more braving the blazing heat, hornets, rattlesnakes, wild pigs, and barbwire fencing that are so commonplace in Florida. This is the first time I’ll be paid salary, and the first time I’ll be making a decent wage. So, I won the battle with my apartment complex over the issue of tree branch falling on my car. One month to the day they decided to compensate me for damages. This was not an easy process, and I had to speek to many people within the organization that owns the complex. Basically they had one lady, in risk management, handling my case. ( Read more... )
