Musings

Sep 17, 2006 14:32

For whatever inane reason, I was laying in bed this morning for an hour or so, not really asleep, but definitely not completely awake. I was just thinking about random things, such as the fact that it really annoys me when people are uncomfortable and don't say anything. I mean, I just really want everyone around me to be perfectly comfortable ( Read more... )

Haha, yes! You should call and we can mock the stupidity of people! And plus, school is trying to kill me, and we can commiserate together! And that crazy thrustingmom girl with her psycho pr0n icons. What a scary, scary person.

I'll agree that there are some total asshats online, but they actually are a minority, they're just really loud and obnoxious. Just take a look at GameFAQs, or almost any forum nowadays. But, that's the price for advancement in communication. You take the good, you take the bad

Haha, I suppose... But seriously, people overreact. And they don't do it singularly, they do it in droves. I mean, why is it necessary for twenty people to tell someone that their "iconz are teh suxx". Why is a simple "I'm not too fond of them myself" not sufficient? Some poor girl(guy?) on the patd community got spammed with hate, and it's not that unusual. O.O

I couldn't find the exact post I was talking about... I guess the mods must have deleted it. However, here is a link to an example: multiply this by about a hundred. http://community.livejournal.com/patd/1163820.html?thread=23645740#t23645740

Mhm, some LJ users seem like they have sticks up their asses. Chill the hell out.

I mean, I just really want everyone around me to be perfectly comfortable with the people they're with, and if they're not, it makes me feel pretty horribly, even if it's not within my control.

Awww.

Awkwardness/uncomfortable-ness (not a word...I don't think...xD)...hmm...do people at school have anything to do with this?

Indeed.

And yeah, it's partly people at school, but not really any one person in particular... Just the musings of a half-awake crazy person. xD

I hate confrontation, so I'd rather put up with my discomfort for a little while than have a confrontation that makes things worse. Fortunately, the people around me are great, so it's never really an issue.

It surprises me how much online people can overreact. It's never really happened to me, and I hope it ever does.

Oh, and the ban on underweight models can only be a good thing in helping to promot healthy body images. I just hope it lasts.

I'm pretty laid back, but I just feel so bad when you see the expression on someone's face and you just KNOW that they'd rather be somewhere else. Everyone should be having a good time at all times! Haha, yeah, right. xD

And I've seen people threaten to find someone in real life and hurt them. It's just crazy, especially in fandom.

Hell yes! Let's hope and pray it comes over here... I'm so sick of pro-anorexic communities! An eating disorder is not a badge of honor, it's a serious problem, and these idiots are just bandying it about for fun.
