Hmn. I think my NaNo novel takes place in 1918, not 1916. I think I misspoke before. The more I research, the more I realize it has to occur in 1918. So we're one month away from the start of National Novel Writing Month 2009. Long-time readers of this journal are painfully aware that NaNoWriMo is one of my biggest obsessions. A night like this
This week has been rotten in just about every conceivable way. I won't get into any details, but Monday was lovely and inspiring and provided a renewed sense of hope. In the span of 12 hours I'm experiencing both the highs and lows of being a homeowner. Last night, I hosted 20-odd guests at my game night/housewarming party, and we had such a fabulous time I'm still giddy about it. Cake or Death? How about cake AND death!
Thanks to today's horrifying entry on Cake Wrecks, I'm unable to extract this thought from my mind: 3D ultrasound imagery bears a rather unsettling similarity to memento mori photography. (<-- not so safe for those with weak constitutions. Oh, those death-obsessed Victorians and their spiffy new camera technology.)

Examiner vs Suite101
Hmn, so I'm researching this whole Examiner.com/web publishing thing, and I've found a similar site which I might enjoy writing for even more. Has anyone heard of Suite101?
