Jack/Daniel/Teal'c - lost - adult (angst)ticklieNovember 10 2007, 14:47:31 UTC
They'd known it in their gut practically as soon as the three of them had scrambled to their knees on the ramp and looked back where she should have been.
They'd demanded to be allowed to travel back to the planet immediately. Had started shouting in the gateroom when they were told there was no planet for them to return to. Their weapons had been confiscated sometime then, although they weren't officially considered a threat.
Jack had almost punched Dr. McKay in the face when the astrophysicist had showed them the readings and explained why they meant that there was no hope.
Daniel and Teal'c had almost let him.
Instead, they'd dragged him away to the locker room, throwing threatening glances at anybody who showed any signs of wanting to object.
The general had opened his mouth to speak as they'd passed but had been incapable of uttering a sound.
"Lost. She's lost." Jack's voice was so faint they almost didn't hear him

Oh, but I'm convinced this story ends well. They eventually find Sam, who's been redirected to some other planet in the ass-end of the galaxy and she's all like, "What took you guys so long? I haven't had a shower in weeks!"
And Jack is all calm-looking on the outside and claps her on the back, and maybe his eyes are a little humid, but it's because of the dust in the air y'know?
"Thought we'd lost you there, Carter," he'd say.
And a funny look would pass between the three guys and she'd raise an eyebrow and say, "Wait, what'd I miss?"
And Daniel wouldn't be able to help himself and would give her a big tight hug, muddy and dishevelled as she is, and whisper that they'd missed her. And Teal'c would nod along and maybe smile a little.
