I used to like PERN novels when I was a teen. I picked one up today, only to discover about a hundred pages in, after having had a second look at the cover, that it's written by a Todd McCaffrey and not Ann McCaffrey.

I really don't understand how you can just walk up to someone and start a conversation with them that assumes they heard a bunch of previous conversations that they couldn't possibly have.
