I'm so proud and she just couldn't care less!
Talk about living vicariously through your children! LOL

That is so fantastic! Give her a congratulatory hug for me, if she'll stand still for it! :D

I'd love to read it when it's published if that's possible!

It was a very short story! One of those fifty word things. :)
It's title is Storm clouds and I can copy it here just for you.

STORM CLOUDS

It's night-time and quiet. A drip falls then some more - a downpour. The sky rumbles, it flashes gold. A stormy night. I'm tucked up warm with hot chocolate and a blanket. I stare into the bleak distance. I am snug, cosy, a warm feeling fills me and I smile.

By Lucy.

Well, I can tell you, a warm feeling fills me, and I smile too. I'm so thrilled that she won a certificate of merit and her 'creative piece of distinction' was selected for publication in a Young Writers anthology.
By Mummy! :)

She has written some super, longer, stories. Some are quite spooky and full of suspense. That was the only competition she has won though she did come second in a school competition once. The winner was in sixth form while she was in first year. So I think she could do something with that if she wants to. Alas, she is aiming for hairdressing or interior designer. Sigh.

aw congratulations to her! That is such a good feeling. Maybe she's more proud of it than she's letting on? You never know at that age. :D
