~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hyung Jun had finished serving the customer, he pretended to be busy, continuous cleaning the same spot on the counter, feeling Hyun Joong’s stare on him the whole time. Back there was too close to a connection for Hyung Jun’s comfort, he knew for his safety and for Hyun Joong’s safety, he couldn’t get any closer. No matter what funny feelings he felt.
Hyung Jun let out a big sigh. Hyun Joong glanced over, looking at the poor soul looking in turmoil, slumped over the counter. He got up slowly, making eye contact as he crossed the café. Hyung Jun looked up to see Hyun Joong coming towards him, he started semi-panicking. Why was he coming over here, sure he was in the middle of a conversation when he left him, but still he made it look like he was working right? Even in his mind he was rambling.
Hyun Joong propped himself on the counter, reached out and put his hand on top of the hand that was wiping the counter. Hyung Jun looked up to an intense stare from the older male.
“You are going to wear a hole in the counter if you keep on wiping it like that” Hyun Joong said slowly.
Hyung Jun’s cheeks flushed a little at the contact and he quickly look away. Hyun Joong started to move his hand slowly upwards to try and bring Hyung Jun’s face back around-
“Heng Jun~” a voice called from the entrance.
Hyun Joong immediately pulled back, turned, grabbed his coat and left the store quickly. Hyung Jun was just sitting there frozen, his heart having small palpitations.
“Heng Jun, are you alright?” Zhou Mi asked the frozen younger male…
~~~

Hyun Joong walked quickly along the street lost in his thoughts. He had never felt that way before, his heart was eternally closed off to others. Why did it suddenly start beating with a feverous rhythm.

He suddenly punched a nearby wall.

Hyung Jun what are you doing to me?

He composed himself, and opened the door to his apartment, sighing heavily.
~~~
“So the plan, Hangeng is going to come here with the agent on the case, and I am going to be listening in, observing him so we can make a further plan. You just smile and be your cute self like always okay?” Zhou mi said as he pinched Hyung Jun’s cheek.
“Mimi-gege what did I say about my cheeks?” Hyung Jun said in a warning tone.
“Oh is that a threat? Don’t think you can get far I have had just as much training as you.” Zhou Mi said with a wink.
Hyung Jun sighed, he couldn’t take this much sunshine when his mind was all scrambled. He looked down at his hand, where he could still feel Hyun Joong’s hand warmly on his.
“Mimi-gege…what happens if we develop feelings for someone…” Hyung Jun said cautiously.
Zhou Mi pushed up his glasses and looked at Hyung Jun with a serious face.
“Heng Jun, you know we can’t hold feelings for someone. Misfortune will befall them no matter how cautious you are. We lead a lonely life, only having eachother. So try and banish the feelings you hold. Love is an especially meddlesome thing when it comes to our line of work.” Zhou Mi responded with a dark tone.
“I understand gege. Thank you for guidance, I will honor your advisement.” Hyung Jun responded formally, as was the way in which he had been brought up.
“I am sorry Heng Jun, that is how it has to be…” Zhou mi said, his voice laced with sadness.
A customer walked through the door, and ordered.
“Sure that will be 24 yuan” Hyung Jun said with a smile. (a/n: currency in China)
The poor customer was confused, because Hyung Jun’s chinese mode was still on, since he had been conversing with Zhou Mi.
“I think he means 4000 won sir” Siwon said from behind the customer, flashing his dashing smile.
Hyung Jun scratched the back of his head shyly.
“I am sorry sir, I just moved here”
“It’s alright, I understand” the customer said with a smile, as he got his drink and left.
“Thank you, you saved me” Hyung Jun said to Siwon.
“It’s alright. I enjoy helping people. Oh by the way my name is Siwon” He said as he outstretched his hand.
“Hello Siwon my name is Heng-I mean Hyung Jun” Hyung Jun introduced himself and shook his hand.
“And I am Zhou Mi, I am Heng Jun’s close friend” Zhou mi said through the top of his glasses and shook the agent’s hand.
“Siwon…I thought we were meeting someone here” Kyuhyun said as he entered the coffee shop.
“Oh. Kyuhyun” Zhou mi and Hyung Jun said in unison.
“Hello. I didn’t expect to see you again Zhou mi.” Kyuhyun said with mild interest.
“Well I always surprise people” Zhou Mi said with his sunshine smile.
“Hyung Jun hyung, tea please” Kyuhyun asked with a sigh as he sat down at one of the tables.
Hyung Jun nodded and Zhou Mi wandered over to Kyuhyun and sat across from him. Kyuhyun started a conversation with him surprisingly. Siwon was observing all of this with a smile on his face.
“He really doesn’t make friends well, this is a nice change.” Siwon commented as he smiled and turned back to Hyung Jun.
“Oh he is really nice. We talked to him for several hours the first time we met. Zhou Mi gege smashed him into the door when he was rushing by and there a friendship was born” Hyung Jun told him with a chuckle.
“Oh? Well it’s good he has other friends besides me and his laptop. Oh I am his partner by the way” Siwon added.
“Oh yes he told us he works in the police department” Hyung Jun responded while getting Kyuhyun and Zhou mi tea.
When Hyung Jun was serving them Siwon was leaning back into the counter watching Hyung Jun, and he was trying to figure out his story. So Hyung Jun, looks Korean, but has a tendency to speak chinese, he uses chinese honorifics, and Zhou mi his close friend is chinese. Siwon cocked his eyebrow in puzzlement.
“He was raised by people who took him in when he was orphaned in China…” Hangeng answered Siwon’s thoughts.
Siwon jumped and almost fell over. Hangeng had appeared next to him suddenly, he hadn’t even heard the door open. Hangeng in the meantime was chuckling into his hand. Hyung Jun saw Hangeng and immediately hurried over.
“Gege!” Hyung Jun said as he rushed over and hugged Hangeng.
“Hello Heng Jun. How are you today?” Hangeng asked.
“Oh good. Just doing work, it’s been a slow day today” Hyung Jun answered.
Siwon was just watching the exchange blankly, his mind was still stuck on how Hangeng had managed to pop up from nowhere, he was pretty observant and would have notice when he came in…
“Okay, now get back to work Heng Jun. I have something to help Siwon with” Hangeng told the younger man.
“Okay! Then we can go home.” Hyung Jun said as he turned around to continue cleaning the shop.
“Siwon……Siwon….Siwon…” Hangeng called repeatedly while waving a hand in front of his face.
“hmm?” Siwon mumbled.
“I asked if you wanted to sit down and start talking” Hangeng said with a confused tone.
“Oh yes… sorry about that. I was spacing out.” Siwon apologized.
“It’s alright I get like that sometimes” Hangeng said with a laugh.
“Sometimes?” Hyung Jun voiced from behind the counter.
Hangeng just laughed and led Siwon to a table next to the window, they sat down across from one another.
“So…” Siwon started. His words slowly stopped flowing through his head as he saw the handsome and beautiful chinese man across from him. Hangeng gestured him to go on, not wanting to talk to the dimpled man himself. He tried to remain as stoic as possible, not wanting the deep rooted feelings to grow, they couldn’t. While Siwon has his head in his files, Hangeng made a face of mental distress, Hyung Jun looked up at the right moment…
Zhou Mi was somehow listening in while talking to Kyuhyun, keeping him distracted from Hyung Jun and Hangeng.
This one is smart…too smart for my tastes. Zhou mi thought.
Kyuhyun was discussing current events, and even talked a little bit about his online game called starcraft. Zhou Mi was listening with mild interest. Kyuhyun sounded like a typical nerd with no social skills, and certainly no fashion sense. Zhou mi was examining his clothes, an off brand sport coat with mismatched pants, oh come on those didn’t even look like similar navy colors. He was cute though, that was his saving grace. Kyuhyun had a certain charm to him, something about all of that rambling.
Kyuhyun was observant enough to know he was being examined, with Zhou Mi’s eyes wandering his body, and his left brow would twitch when he came across something dis satisfactory. Kyuhyun was doing his own observations, did this man have anything that wasn’t a name brand? He bet even his underwear was designer. Zhou mi was a talker, like last time, Kyuhyun knew how long he had been a doctor, what his injury healing success rate was, and where he liked to shop for herbs. Zhou Mi’s life was interesting, and Kyuhyun liked to hear the doctor talk about endless cases he had treated, and of course omitting the specific details.
“So basically you just want to help you figure out who is behind all of these killings. Well there are a great number of assassin clans in China, some huge, some small… I guess we should start narrowing down the list” Hangeng informed Siwon.
“hmm yes. Well I have to go for now. They have another hit tonight and I need to make a plan. Can we meet on Sunday? I know it’s your day off and mine too, but it would really help me, especially if something happens tonight.” Siwon asked him carefully.
“Sure I can do that. Where at?” Hangeng questioned.
“Maybe at my apartment? Or yours which ever you are more comfortable in” Siwon asked treading carefully, and sweating at the possibility.
“Well not mine. I have a healing injured man in my room. Siwon might get suspicious” Hangeng thought to himself.
“Oh yours would be greatest. Heng Jun likes to sleep in on Sundays, and he gets grumpy when he is disturbed” Hangeng said with a light laugh.
Siwon smiled and jumped inside. Hangeng was coming to HIS apartment. Then he settled down a little, he shouldn’t really be that excited about him coming over, I mean it’s not like he was his boyfriend…
~~~

Hyung Jun was getting his mask over his nose when Zhou Mi popped into his room.

“Do you have everything?”

“Yes Mi gege. I assure you I am prepared” Hyung Jun replied back with a giggle in his voice.

“Okay good. Hangeng already shoved me out of his room for bothering him, he needs to get in the right frame of mind he says” Zhou mi said sourly.

“Well I need to prepare too Mi gege. Remember becoming assassins we have to have a certain mind to go on with our duty.” Hyung Jun informed him.

Zhou Mi shrugged and left his room, only to pop in again to say: Have I ever told you, you look fantastic in that outfit.

Hyung Jun had a bit of muffled laughter.

But it was no longer the time for games, he had to prepare for the night ahead…

~~~
“Siwon you have to be careful this time, it isn’t in a public place, you are going into a fortress…alone” Kyuhyun said to him over the ear piece.
“Kyu I think I can handle myself” Siwon reassured the younger male.
“Okay well I will be here to pick you up when it’s all over. Come back safe Siwon” Kyuhyun said hesitantly.
“Roger. I’ll see you later Kyu” Siwon said as he entered the fortress of the infamous crime lord.
~~~

“So we will enter through the roof?” Hyung Jun said examining the building from a nearby tall building.

“Yes we will drop in from the roof and surprise his men. He seems to have them everywhere.” Hangeng said quietly.

“The sooner we kill him the better, who knows how many sins stain his soul” Hyung Jun added thoughtfully.

Hangeng chuckled lightly.

“If you said I sound like a fortune cookie I am going to smack you gege” Hyung Jun warned.

Hangeng just continued to chuckle silently as they leaped off of the roof and onto the building without a sound.

They slipped into the darkness of air conditioning duct, undetected by the guards outside.

Silently sliding through the ducts they were slightly disturbed by the commotion below…

~~~
Siwon was going through the many levels of protection, pretty much going unnoticed. He stood before the final door to the inner sanctuary where the boss was currently residing.
Suddenly two burly men came up behind him and grabbed him. He had fought back but was no match for the other 2 men that joined their friends. His position had been compromised. Siwon was dragged through the big steel door.
“So you thought you could sneak past my defenses? What does a cop want here anyway?” the boss commented sitting in the middle of the room on cushions.
“To see you behind bars.” Siwon spat, and was immediately punched in the face…
~~~

“Oh no. What is that idiot doing here?” Hangeng hissed, observing Siwon’s capture through the vent.

“Gege do we let this play out?” Hyung Jun asked coldly.

Hangeng hesitated, technically in a difficult situation like this they should, but there was tugging on his chest….

“I will never be touched, and you can tell your mysterious killing force to go to hell” the boss declared as he struck Siwon across the face.

“Well if I ever catch them, Ill make sure to inform you through those iron bars” Siwon said with a smirk.

“Oh we have a smartass here boys” the boss scoffed as he pulled a knife from his pocket, and held it up in a position to strike.

Hangeng’s heart stopped, he couldn’t bear to see Siwon cold and lifeless…

“So lets put an end to the games…” the boss snarled, and tightened his grip around the knife.

In the next second Hangeng had dropped down from the vent and landed right in front of the boss and knocked the knife out of his hand.

“Who are you freak show?” the boss spat at Hangeng.

“你的处罚” Hangeng whispered. (Translation: Your punishment)

“I don’t speak your dirty language…dam-”

Hyung Jun had taken but a second to drop from the ceiling and ran his blade through the chest of the boss.

Hyung Jun paused before sheathing his blade.

“愿你的灵魂被清洗” Hyung Jun whispered, as the body slumped down into the pool of blood flowing from the chest. (translate: May your soul be cleansed)

Siwon just looked up at the back of the assassin who had saved him, and wondered why.

The 4 henchmen in the room were frozen, they hadn’t even seen the assassin’s coming. When they saw the blood flowing out, the turned to attack the two black clad figures, and the two holding Siwon dragged him back.

Hangeng turned to the two dragging Siwon, who was having a hard time staying conscious thanks to all of the blows to the head. He jumped over the two henchmen advancing toward him and ran to take out the two henchmen who had dropped Siwon. One of the henchmen took out a knife and pulled it back to attack the struggling to get up Siwon. Hangeng was outnumbered but one technique he had would give him the upperhand.

Hangeng jumped up and flung his arms out wide.

The henchman who was in mid swing of the knife couldn’t move, it was almost like his whole body was constrained. The other 3 henchmen were having no luck moving at all. Hangeng flicked his wrist and all 4 of them rose up in the air.

“Been awhile since I have seen that one, you guys really must have made him angry” Hyung Jun chuckled through his mask.

The henchmen were mumbling phrases on confusion.

Hyung Jun jumped up and seemingly started walking in mid air.

The invisible wire technique, developed by Hangeng himself. When he flung out his arms, it sent thin wires throughout the room and wrapped around the targets. Siwon could barely see them, and he was slightly impressed. Hangeng looked up at Hyung Jun and nodded.

“You want to know something cool about this technique” Hyung Jun said, walking on one of the wired with perfect balance, then he stopped when he got to a particular wire.

“With just a tiny tug of this wire, and all of you are out like lights… sounds interesting huh?” Hyung Jun said with a torturous tone.

Hangeng sent a warning look at Hyung Jun, sometimes his younger brother was evil.

Hyung Jun reached out and pulled the wire lightly.

Siwon watch how all 4 of them seemed to lose consciousness, his vigilantes were definitely forces to be wary of.

Suddenly the alarm for the inner sanctuary went off.

“Dammit, one of them must have a deadman switch” Siwon guessed.

Hangeng jumped down and landed in front of Siwon, motioning him to get on his back.

“We need to get out of here and you are still disoriented” Hangeng said quietly.

Siwon spent no time arguing and got on Hangeng’s back…

The horde of hired guns burst into the room to see their boss dead, 4 of the elite guard hanging unconsciously, and a single coin with a black lotus on it….

~~~
The night air was hitting Siwon’s face and stinging the light gashes on his face as he rested his head on the shoulder of the jumping assassin. His head was pounding, and there were a lot of unanswered questions.
Hangeng and Hyung Jun finally stopped on a rooftop.
Siwon got off Hangeng’s back and looked around.
“This is my apartment building, how did you know?” Siwon asked.
Hyung Jun flipped off of the rooftop into the darkness of the alley, much like he did the first time. Hangeng ignored the question and turned around, intending to do the same.
Siwon lunged forward and grabbed Hangeng’s wrist.
“Thank you for saving my life…. But… why?” Siwon questioned starting into Hangeng’s brown eyes, the only unmasked part of his face.
“Do not ask questions that can’t be answered…” Hangeng said while turning away.
“This doesn’t change anything. I will repay my debt one day, but I will still continue to pursue you in the name of justice” Siwon said quietly.
Hangeng merely nodded, and pulled his hand out of Siwon’s grasp and bounded off the roof, diving into the misty darkness of the night.
Siwon stood in silence for a while wondering why Hangeng’s face was so familiar…
~~~

Hangeng was returning to his apartment through the window.

“How did it go?” Zhou Mi asked sliding out of a shadowed part of the room.

“Intresting” Hangeng said shortly.

“As I heard from Heng Jun” Zhou mi chuckled.

Hangeng slowly walked towards his room, wanting to change and sleep. And most importantly stop thinking.

“So are you going to tell me about Siwon or am I going to have to get it out of you. I know a wonderful truth serum.” Zhou Mi said from the darkness of the room.

“As soon as I figure it out myself I will tell you Mi” Hangeng said slowly before opening his door and retreating to his room.

As he closed the door, he slid down the slick wood, and held his head in his arms. Hyung Jun was just getting out of the shower and knelt beside his older brother.

“Gege I understand….” Hyung Jun said quietly.

Hangeng just held his hand that was placed on his shoulder.

“Now go get in the shower and get changed. I want to sleep gege” Hyung Jun said cheerfully.

Hangeng just chuckled…

~~~
“gege…I am sorry. I couldn’t…stay with you”
Hangeng was holding a wounded Hyung Jun in his arms. His wounds were mortal, nothing could be done to save him. Hangeng started sobbing. A black figure materialized in front of the two, smiling very sinister, posed to strike Hangeng down with his sword. Hangeng closed his eyes waiting for the moment to come, when he heard
“Hangeng NO!”
Siwon jumped in front of the sword, his skin and bones being cut through like rice paper. Siwon collapsed in a bloody mangled mess in front of Hangeng.
“Siwon why?” Hangeng said while holding the head of Siwon.
“because I love you…” Siwon breathed out as he turned cold, never to speak again.
Hangeng slammed his fists on the ground and cried out endless sorrows.
An ominous voice silently said “Always remember the consequences”
~~~

Hangeng sat up in a cold sweat. It was just a dream he told himself, still breathing rapidly, and a single tear escaping from his eye. Dreams were always omens he was told growing up. This one did not bode well.

Hyung Jun just rolled over, almost knocking Hangeng out of the bed, and still mumbling things in his sleep. Hangeng just put his hand on the side of Hyung Jun’s face.

“I will never let anything happen to you brother…” Hangeng whispered.

Hangeng’s cellphone rang loudly in the quiet little room, startling the poor chinese man. He grabbed the phone off the nightstand and opened it.

“Hello?”
“Hangeng!” Siwon answered enthusiastically.
“Yes Siwon?” Hangeng responded sleepily.
“Sid I wake you up? I am sorry”
“No I am not usually a morning person, I woke up a little before you called me.Why are you calling me?”
“Oh I was going to ask if you were still on for our meeting today”
Hangeng had forgotten all about it, he was supposed to meet Siwon at his apartment.

“O-Oh yes I’ll be there. But are you sure you are up for it?” Hangeng asked in a worried tone remembering Siwon’s head trauma.

“Well I did get into a situation last night, but I feel much better today. I have a couple of scrapes so don’t be shocked when you get over here.” Siwon said lightly.

“Okay then I’ll see you later. Bye Siwon”

“Bye Hangeng” Siwon said as he hung up the phone.

Hangeng sighed, as if he didn’t have enough trouble to keeping Siwon out of his secret.

Hyung Jun groaned and sat up, rubbing his eyes.

“Gege what time is it?” Hyung Jun asked in a mixture of Chinese and Korean.

Hangeng laughed and pushed Hyung Jun back down.

“Sleep Heng Jun, ill go make some breakfast for everyone” Hangeng said while getting up.

~~~
Siwon had been pacing around his apartment all day, and cleaning to make sure everything was perfect. He paused and thought he was behaving much like a love sick teenager on a first date. He jumped when the doorbell rang and approached the door nervously.
Hangeng smiled when the door was open, Siwon remembered his manners and led Hangeng into his living room.
“This is a really nice apartment you have here” Hangeng said slightly nervously, as he sat down on the couch.
Hangeng was admiring Siwon, when his dream flashed into his head and kept on reminding himself, this was a relationship that cannot happen.
Siwon sat down next to him, and scooted and inch closer as their conversation progressed. They had started the business part of the appointment, going over evidence, Geng sharing his knowledge of chinese assassin clans, and of course omitting many various facts. Siwon was focusing on a particular clan when his face started to sting and he dropped the paper.
“Siwon are you okay?” Hangeng asked worriedly.
“Yes I just didn’t apply the medicine correctly, its hard to do it by yourself” Siwon admitted.
“want me to help you?” Hangeng asked quietly getting up to go to the medicine cabinet.
“Yes. It’s the small brown bottle on the bottom shelf” Siwon explained.
Hangeng returned with the little bottle, that looked vaguely familiar and uncapped it.
“Oh this is a chinese medicinal mixture, you are very wise to use it” Hangeng explained as he started applying the slightly yellow solution to the gashes on Siwon’s face.
Siwon smiled at Hangeng, his kindness was truly extraordinary, this was the second time he had helped him in times of need. When Hangeng re capped the bottle Siwon stared at his face, and that nagging feeling of familiarity popped up again. Siwon quickly banished the thought from his mind, no way could Hangeng be a cold hearted assassin.
Hangeng looked questionly at Siwon, as he took his hand and placed it on Hangeng’s. They looked at eachother quietly for a few moments. Hangeng pushed all rational thinking out and simple enjoyed Siwon’s presence. His scent was so… appealing…
Siwon really had to resist, he had barely know this man for 3 days, and knew next to nothing about him. But something about Hangeng was pulling him in, the attraction was there and strong. From his olive skin to his kindness, Siwon really just wanted him.
In mere moments both resolutions crumbled as they leaned in slowly, wanting more of each other. There was something there neither of them could control, they were just drawn to each other. As their lips met, they were hungry for each other, wanting to taste more. Their mouths fit together so perfectly, as they moved.
They pulled apart to catch their breaths. Realization came to Hangeng first, this shouldn’t be happening. It couldn’t happen. Hangeng rushed out of Siwon’s apartment in a second, not wanting to even examine the consequences of what he had just begun.
Siwon was frozen, Hangeng had been there, real, and irresistible. He buried his face into his hands, wondering where the thoughts of control had gone…
