I'm new to the community and look forward to being part of it. I'd like to complete my introduction by noting that you can go here to vote for sushi as the worthiest of all meats - it's currently competing against bacon, and should be quite a battle.

so my mom decided the other day that she doesn't want me eating sushi more than once a week because of the mercury in the fish.

i'm pretty addicted, so once a week just isn't going to cut it.

Homemade sushi newbie looking for advice

preparing salmon for nigiri

Long story short, I scored some fresh salmon filets for free and I'd like to make some nigiri for my family on Xmas Eve. The thing is...I don't know how to prepare the fish.
