Heyy isn't akpsi a coed business frat? If it is that usually isn't what the stereotypes are aiming at, they aim at the social frats. Anyways I just joined delta sigma pi at uf, its a coed business frat too. Pledging was so intense man im glad its over. But its cool, you meet a lot of people and have a lot of opportunities to get involved.

Yes it is a coed business frat. But sometimes people see greek letters and automatically make generalizations. And most of what im refering to is people saying something negative about the fact that I am getting involved, and not hanging out as much as I used to cause im busy. Not specifically people just against frats. But in hindsight this entry was a little more about my paranoia about how certain people view fraternities, than what people really believe, lol. Cause honestly I never saw myself every joining a greek organization, but i feel i made the right decision in doing so.

hahaha same here. When I say I am in a frat though, people obviously know its coed. I think it is awesome you joined, it makes the school so much smaller and you can make some different friends, not saying the ACE guys arent amazing, just you need some other connections once you are out in the real world. But congrats on getting in~ I can't believe we were both pledging very similar organizations this semester and neither of us knew. lol. It is good for me because I actually did something by myself for once. So to be in AKPsi you don't have to be a business major? You just need to have an interest in business? AKPsi and DSP are the only business frats at UF I think, man we couldve been brothers!

I know how you feel Spence.. I'm proud of you for getting in and glad you're branching out and getting involved!
When I rushed I felt like a lot of people were judging me just because I wasn't judging all of the sororities. And I know sororities and social ones at that are sometimes pretty close to the stereotypes, it's always what you make of it yourself and I did it for the same reasons you're in akpsi. I wanted to meet new people and get involved with all of the charity events (and the dance competitions!!) and take advantage of the opportunities. It's funny how the one's pointing their fingers are the ones who are ignorant and judgmental.

What you're doing is great for you but I don't have to tell you that.
