((Continued from here.))

Ramon, fingers still grasping at his hair as he looks on in horror at the body and blood, still screaming and screaming and screaming, makes a mad, blind dash for one of the doors once it appears. He doesn't think about how he didn't seem to notice it earlier; all that's registering is that it's a way OUT of here ( Read more... )

Charlene, already standing, jumps again at Ramon's dramatic exit. She's all keyed up, shaking, wanting really, really badly to chase after him (maybe even screaming). She takes a look around, taking in the shock, how they're only just barely moving after Ramon's...exit.

And then she's after him, running as best she can through the people, vaulting and 'excuse me'ing past the seats, shoving more than she'd normally, but this isn't normal. Some chick just...shot herself. Or, like...the gun moved to shoot her. Something but it doesn't matter now, because she's got to get to Ramon before he hurts himself.

Or, at least, that's what she keeps telling herself as she slams the doors (That she's more than a little certain wasn't there a little while ago) open, listening for Ramon, calling out his name.

Then again, he's not that hard to miss. She follows his screams, tromping purposely loudly, because he's so scared, who knows what he'd do?

After being taken outside by St John, Nica is not quite sure what to do with herself. That woman--she doesn't even know what to think, let alone what to do. But what to do becomes rapidly obvious, listening to Ramon's screaming.

He needs someone, obviously. She can see Charlene ahead of her, already going towards him, but he's her friend too, right? They said they weren't going to be alone.

So she follows after, her hands shaking.

He collapsed in the middle of the dusty road, forehead to the earth, fingers tangled and wrapped around his hair, tugging on it painfully and fitfully. He screams until he's out of breath, then takes a rattling gasp and begins again. Occasionally, it would taper off into rapid, nonsensical babbling that's a mix of Spanish and English, which would lead into shaking sobs or climb into another terrified shriek.

The girls approaching him, of course, go unnoticed in his hysterical fit.

Okay, so he's probably not going to jump up and attack.

Charlene eventually makes it over there and kneels down next to him.

"Hey, Ramon? Ramon, can you hear me?" She tentatively places a hand on his back. "Hey, hey, you're out of there now. She's not here, I promise." Oh, if only you knew. Patting his back seems like a good idea. Pat pat pat?

Ramon is still huddled up, of course, whimpering softly, sometimes muttering in English, sometimes in Spanish, none of his words in either language making a whole lot of sense. He's tired and he wants to go to sleep. His head hurts so badly and he wants it to stop.

Most of all, though, he wants out of this place. He doesn't want to have to deal with this anymore. He wants to go back home (wherever THAT could imply; even he doesn't know), he wants somewhere small and dark and safe and just stay there forever. Well, right now, at least this room is giving him one of those very things.

"You go do that." Charlene haet smoke. "I'll keep watch over him."

The windows are closed, and so are the doors, and it's about as safe as Ramon's going to get for a while. Vic takes a seat on the bed again, patting Ramon absently on the back. She's got it covered, Nica. You can belief in her and Mister Orly. They've got him covered.

"Okay." Nica tugs her cigarettes out of her coat pocket, but she doesn't leave without crossing the room to press her lips against Ramon's forehead and whispering to him that he's safe and he's not alone and she'll be just upstairs if he needs her.

Her hand rests on his shoulder for a moment before she lets go, and maybe he feels drowsier than he did a moment ago, sleepy, ready to rest. She tilts her head and smiles at Charlene. "Glad to see he's got another friend," she comments, quietly, and then she excuses herself.

His eyes crack open blearily when Nica's near, and get a bit more watery again when she kisses his his forehead. Once she draws away, he feels that surge of drowsiness, blessed sleep soon coming upon him. He doesn't relax a great deal, but his eyes are soon fluttering closed again.

But not before he mumbles something the the girl still in the room. "Don'-...Don' l-leave me. Please. Don' wanna be...a...lone..."

And there's a long sigh, his shoulders relaxing as he does, arms going slack and he's all but drifted off to sleep.
