LJ Time Management

Nov 22, 2010 08:59

I just realized that it has taken me a week to respond to my friends that commented on my last post! What the heck is happening to time lately?....I can't seem to get hold of it. I have been working on homework and Hostelling International work every morning, thinking that I would get on LJ later....but it doesn't happen ( Read more... )

LJ can be a time user but I break it up into chunks during the day...LJ with breakfast is when I read and reply to other's posts and then throughout the day (as it's always logged into and open on my screen) I can check back and reply to people who have commented to me. Posting is the very last thing I do at night to say goodnight to myself and people here. Some people look for my posts at around the same time every day and when I'm not here they get worried.
LOL
Sometimes, of course, there are days when you just can't be as attentive and that's normal...and good.

FB has always bothered me in its...lack of content? I dunno. I think it's a good way for quick contact but thinky thoughts go here.

I try to get on LJ two or three times a week, but not daily. When I'm on, I plan so spend an hour or two, since I have to catch up on what people have done since I was last on. I find it hard to get on LJ for just a few minutes, so I don't sign on terribly often.

I don't like Facebook much. I go to that once a week to see if anyone has posted anything of particular interest to me. Usually the answer is no. Sometimes someone has a new photo to see.

With all online journals, forums and social networking stuffs I try to spend a few minutes on each in small doses. I would spend more time here on LJ if my friends did as well. I will use my LJ for real updates now and leave the fluff for FB.

ps. No one is going to fault you for being busy! Sheesh, but you've had alot on your plate lately! Hugs!

No-one should feel obliged to read and/or comment every day - if you did it would become a chore rather than a pleasure!
As with all friends, there are some you see almost every day and others who drop in from time to time - all are welcome :-)

There's no timescale on things, Suz, and no obligation to comment or respond to comments, real life should come first :-)

I am posting daily only because I am doing the daily photo challenge which lasts for a year (only 39 days to go!). I enjoy the photos but I don't always feel like posting and yet have to make the time. I'm happier posting 2-4 times a week.

I read over breakfast and comment when I can but post usually quite late at night when the chores of the day are done.

I'm liking facebook much better than I was these days. I find it's easier to just chat between several people and quicker to respond. Anything of enormous or serious content I put here on LJ. *hugs*

I don't "manage" it...every now and then, when I find time, I just check the friends' pages.

And...I KNOW you're there, whether you're posting and responding, or not!
