First Poetry Slam

So I did it! I finally read a poem, out in the open, to group of strangers (and my husband). I feel confused by the results. It seems a lot of people liked it (Although I did not advance to 2nd round b/c I went on too long). I delivered it well, without a fumble, and almost completely memorized. I guess, maybe, I just figure I could have done

It's just experience, you know. Doing anything in front of an audience is so different from on your own. The adrenaline rush/energy is a bonus, and impossible to replicate in "practice" be it music, poetry or any kind of live art/entertainment. I'm proud of you, you did well and finally did it!

And you were pretty too.
