Violet crawled for the first time this week. She actually pulled herself up the day before that, sort of. She had a little extra leverage from the folded clothes she was sitting on. Mother's Day was awesome. Ev was so happy about the presents that she made. She lined them all up on the kitchen table so they would be ready when I got out of the shower and then ran in to tell me they were ready. Violet is growing so fast now. She is about 7 1/2 months and weighs about 22 pounds. She has the body of Buddha and the cheeks of a starving hamster. It looks like she swallowed another baby and is storing that baby in her cheeks for later ( Read more... )

So,  I had to go back to work yesterday. My days with Violet and my afternoons with Ev are done. I was clearly upset about it yesterday morning as we got ready. Ev said, "Mom, I'm sorry you have to go back to work today. Don't worry, we'll spend a lot of time together when you get home." Little cutie.

Violet is finally growing. There was some concern as she was in the 25th percentile at her 6 week appointment. We were forced to give her formula, which is somewhat traumatizing to us. For many formulas, the first two ingredients are high fructose corn syrup and partially hydrogenated fat of some kind. We did find a better one, but it's still chock ( Read more... )

Violet was born September 12th at 6:11 pm. She was 8 pounds, 8 ounces and 21 inches. She has a ton of hair on her head, and the color of it now and in the future is a good debate.
