Sixty cupcakes: 3 teams (varsity, junior varsity, freshman) of 12 girls each, plus coaches, scorekeepers, equipment managers, whoever else is near the dugout....
I used a mix for the cake and a simple buttercream recipe for the frosting. Next year I'll use someone else's oven as mine is quite tempermental.
Thanks. Have you and C looked ahead to whether she would like a quinceanera? We have discussed planning one for the spring as my FIL would really like it (enough to pay for it). We aren't very good Catholics though, so that could throw a hitch into it all ;) We could skip the mass and go straight to the party. Marisa is very interested in shopping for a dress....
I had no idea the church was involved?? I have a few friends who have mention planning one to me, but never mentioned the church part. They are devout Catholics so maybe they assumed I knew. What do they do in church?
No, we haven't. If she wanted something like that, it would probably be best if she worked it out with her grandparents in Argentina. OTOH, if taking The Church out of the celebration is against the rules down there, it won't be an option because they don't support the church (they turned away from the church when a pope gave blessings those in the military gov't many years ago).
LUK if you go ahead with a secular version or if you are able to work in the religious part in a way that makes everyone comfortable.
