Everyone is now sorted out into school. Sam left Saturday for Boston, and a piece of my heart went with him. I already miss him terribly, but I'm excited for him too... It's dry here. There is a drought. Wells are dry. I am thinking of the unthinkable sign, the one I remember when my friend lived in California during the late '70s. If it's yellow, let it mellow, if it's brown, flush it down. Our well is fine for now, but I'm worried. And not always doing the flush thing.

Susan Butcher's death at such a young age has made me feel so sad... I remember having such good feelings about her Iditarod wins and admiring her life.

Can it be June? I suppose so, it's softball season. Marisa is playing on a summer league, and she has an awesome coach. I watched the practice this morning, and the girls look good.
