I'm faxing *another* job application today - this one is to Texas Department of Aging and Disability. I am perfectly qualified. Once again, I can make my application mimic the wording of the job description without lying. I am not holding my breath ( Read more... )

Thanks for the good wishes about the job - I have never received a call for an interview at the state despite applying for jobs that I feel are a good fit for me. I've heard that it's necessary to know someone to get in, and I don't know anyone who can help. I'm trying to figure out if someone on my application (required rather than a resume) screams "Don't hire me ( ... )

I meant "something" on my application, but now that I think about it, it could be someone. I have heard that most hiring managers don't check references until after the first interview, so I doubt someone is bad mouthing me.

Yes, Marisa does sound busy...and thus you are as well. :-)

Congratulations to Sam. Can NOT believe he is graduating from high school. I know it sounds trite, but where does the time go?

All the best with landing the job. I will keep you in my thoughts.
