it's all about this ridiculously complex computer game called ragnarok that peter and i (but mostly me) played for way too many hours in high school and afterwards. it's all based on norse mythology, and you have to travel around killing things and retrieving the seven magical weapons of the 'good' gods so they can defeat the 'evil' gods at the big climatic battle at the end of the world. draugrs are these giant green monsters with big mouths and claws that come back to life when you kill them- the only way to make them disappear is to eat the bodies so they don't regenerate... and since they're so insanely powerful, one of the easiest (and funniest in a really dorky sort of way) ways to get through the game is to proceed in this manner
