It flickers at the edge of vision - flashes come through at odd moments, but when I try to focus directly it slips out of field. I want to pin it down.

I'm a very practical person... until I see something shiny. And the convertible I rented today is very, very shiny. (I'd give you a pic instead but I broke my touchpad buttons by taking my computer apart to fix the fan last week. No more right clicking for me! There was a large plastic pitcher with a medium-sized beaker inside it perched on the edge of the counter at the lab. Being the gazelle that I am, I knocked it over as I tried to pick it up.
