Sometimes you watch an episode and somehow wish that it happened a little bit different. Or you are just playing with the “what ifs”. So here’s a small collection of stories about how things could have been if something went down a little bit differently.

It’s easy to sum this one up: What if Neal got hurt more than he let on by Wilkes? Plus a lot of insights on Peter’s part. The story is actually only a partial AU since, I suppose, it could fit in after Front Man.

The response to one of the prompts I left at Collar Corner. I wanted a story about what would have happened if Ford’s partners had been more sneaky, and had set up their shop elsewhere, taking Neal with them and leaving Ford behind. And I got lucky (again). Short, but on point, with a lot of June in it.

Actually, I can’t be sure that this is an AU yet. But whoever sent the message to Neal, I’m sure it won’t be the person envisioned in this story. And truthfully, in the show this twist would be too much of a stretch to sell to the audience. But in fanfiction it’s fun to delve into different possibilities - especially in this one!

Until I read this story, I thought that there are only two possibilities how the thing with the treasure can go down: Either Neal confesses and the treasure ends up with the FBI or he doesn’t and the treasure will be part of a bigger scheme. Well, I was wrong. This story provides at least one other possibility.
