Haven't seen this season yet, but enjoyed reading your take. Especially liked, “I don’t want you to leave me here either, but we’re out of options, Sammy. Go. Clock’s ticking.”

Glad you enjoyed it. When you get to see this ep, you'll hopefully see why I felt the need to write it!

Yep. Just. Like. That. This scene should absolutely have been in there.

I cringed when Sam said:
"I won’t let anything happen to you, I promise, and I’m going to fix this...”

I know Sam believes it when he says he promises to save Dean, but Sam has become just as powerless as Dean when it comes right down to it. But Sammy keeps plugging away and trying his best.

Really good take on the ep. Well done.

Thanks so much for your comments. Just one scene like this would have made up for a lot, wouldn't it? Yes, poor Sam will keep plugging on. And he did save Dean this time, so there's hope.

Nicely done. I like how you showed Sam acknowledging his own fears but setting them aside for Dean’s sake, and I like your explanation for Dean staying behind at the motel when Sam went to meet Bobby. Good job filling in what we didn’t get to see in the ep.

Favorite lines:

He’d left Dean sitting on the edge of the bed watching TV, muscles rigid with tension, picking distractedly at the edge of the bandage

Good detail.

Dean clutched at Sam’s shirt, white-knuckled. “Sam, no, they’re still here! Can’t you see them? They’ve come to take me back.”

Poor Dean. If he had to go through that all over again … *hugs him*

With a sigh he switched channels and settled back against the headboard as the screen filled with animated penguins engaged in a frenzied line dance.

I love this image of Dean watching animated penguins. *g*

Thanks for the comments, and particular thanks for the beta and the objective look at the first draft. Even though I left in some of the emo stuff, I think I toned it down enough to meet with your approval! Glad you liked the penguins - last minute addition!
